We recommend a checkup and clean every six months for adults and children. This lets us catch decay, gum disease and bite issues early, when they're cheapest and easiest to treat.
Every checkup at Stradbroke Dental includes a full oral exam, digital x-rays when needed, an oral cancer screening, and a professional scale and polish with our hygienist.
We use modern composite (white) fillings, ceramic onlays and crowns where appropriate. Older amalgam fillings can be replaced if you'd prefer a more aesthetic option.
Common questions
- How often should I visit the dentist?
- Every six months for most adults and children. If you have gum disease or a high decay risk, we may recommend more frequent visits.
- Do you take health-fund cover?
- Yes — we're HICAPS-enabled, so your rebate is processed on the spot. You only pay the gap (if any). We accept all major Australian funds including Bupa, HCF, Medibank, nib and AHM.
- What does a checkup actually involve?
- A full mouth exam, digital x-rays when due, an oral cancer screening, and a scale and polish. Most checkups take about 45 minutes.
