Children's Dentistry
Children should grow up not being afraid of the dentist. Our approach with kids is patient, playful and never rushed — we want their first visits to be the start of a lifetime of easy dental care.

We see children from around age two for their first 'happy visit' — a no-pressure ride in the chair, a count of their teeth, and a sticker on the way out. From there, six-monthly checkups become routine.
Many children are eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS), which covers up to $1,132 of dental care over two years. We bulk-bill eligible kids — no out-of-pocket cost.
Common children's treatments include fluoride applications, fissure sealants on adult molars, small fillings and orthodontic monitoring as teeth develop.
Common questions
- When should my child's first dental visit be?
- Around their second birthday, or when their first teeth come through — whichever is later. The first visit is about familiarity, not treatment.
- Is my child eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule?
- Most children aged 0–17 whose family receives Family Tax Benefit Part A are eligible. We can check eligibility for you when you book.
- Do you offer sedation for anxious kids?
- We use behavioural techniques and happy gas (nitrous oxide) where helpful. For more complex cases we can refer to a paediatric specialist with general anaesthesia.
